Course Prerequisites
I meet the prerequisites outlined in the course announcement, OR I have communicated with the instructor for approval before registering for this course.

Prerequisites: Students will need a basic exposure to and understanding of psychoanalytic theory and its application to the treatment of patients. Applicants can meet this requirement through previous coursework, training, or supervision (e.g., Thinking Psychoanalytically: The Basics; the PPSC Introductory Course; Fundamentals of Psychoanalysis; psychoanalytic coursework or supervision in graduate school/residency or post-graduation). Applicants who don't meet this requirement can register for the course with the permission of the instructor. Prerequisites: This class is open to matriculated students in the Adult, Adult/Child, or Child-Focused psychoanalytic tracks. Students will need to have completed nearly all the classes in the core curriculum (including the Life Cycle courses). Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy students and graduates who have completed the core curriculum and have at least one intensive case may also take this course. Other students may be eligible to attend only with the permission of the instructor(s). If applicable, please reach out for permission prior to registering for the course. Prerequisites: Students will need a basic exposure to and understanding of psychoanalytic theory and its application to the treatment of patients. This class is open to matriculated Psychoanalytic candidates in the Adult or Adult/Child-combined tracks who have completed nearly all of the Core Curriculum, which must include having completed the Life Cycle courses. Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy students, and graduates, who have completed the Core Curriculum and have at least one intensive case may also take this class. Prerequisites: This class is a requirement for students matriculated in the Child-Focused or combined Adult/Child Psychoanalytic Track. Other students who wish to participate (adult analytic candidates, students contemplating child analytic training, students with experience working with children or adolescents, etc) should have completed at least 33 credit hours of the Core Curriculum or have obtained prior permission from the instructors. The seminars will be open to non-child analytic candidates based on their readiness to participate at this level with the material. Prerequisites: This class is open to matriculated students in psychoanalysis track who have patients in analytic treatment. Students should have completed most of the core curriculum.

Prerequisites: Students should have a foundational understanding of psychoanalytic theory and its application in patient treatment. Applicants can fulfill this requirement through prior coursework, training, or supervision. Those who do not meet this requirement may still enroll in the course with the instructor’s permission. Course Cancellation Policy:

  • The registration fee is non-refundable.
  • Students who cancel before class begins will be given a tuition refund, less a $40 administrative fee.
  • There will be no refunds for cancellations after class begins.
  • Students who drop the class after it begins are expected to pay the full tuition.

  • Late registrations may be accepted in exceptional circumstances, incurring an additional $100 late registration fee.
