When you join the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas, you become a part of a lively community that receives tremendous value by participating in exceptional educational programs, networking opportunities, and new patient referrals. Our goal is to provide an open-minded and welcoming community that promotes collaboration, cultivates professional relationships, and establishes a robust learning environment for anyone who has an interest in psychoanalytic thought.
PCC membership opens the door to a wide array of networking, mentoring, scientific programs, continuing education courses, and postgraduate training in the field of psychoanalysis and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
All members are encouraged to use their unique talents in promoting the PCC’s mission of increasing awareness of mental health in the community. Members can do so by serving in the PCC through networking and referral opportunities on the members’ listserv, participating in a Study Group, joining a PCC committee, or attending any number of educational programs. In this way, membership is a rewarding and long-term commitment.

PCC Membership Categories
All PCC Members must agree to adhere to the requirements of good character, ethical practice, and professional fitness, according to Article VI (F) and Exhibit 1 of the PCC Bylaws.
Professional Member
This category is open to individuals who have completed a professional mental health education program at the graduate level (MSW, PhD, PsyD, MD, MSN, etc.) or who are students in or graduates of a psychoanalytic training program.
Professional Membership Benefits:
- Referrals through the Psychoanalytic Referral Service
- Earn CE/CME credits for attending PCC programs and courses at no additional cost
- Free admission to PCC Scientific Programs (CE/CME credits included)
- Engage with other members by joining one of our Study Groups
- Access to the PCC member listserv to share referrals, upcoming events, articles, and announcements
- Discounted entrance to PCC-sponsored programs, such as Circle of Security Parenting
- Professional profile page on the PCC website and visibility on the Therapist Search and Supervisor Search databases
- Email updates and invitations to programs and special events
- Access an archive of psychoanalytic literature on the Psychoanalytic Electronic Publishing website (PEP-Web) (LINK) at a reduced members’ rate (additional $71 per year)

Community Member
Community membership is for individuals without clinical training, including students enrolled in graduate programs, who are interested and engaged in psychoanalytic study and practice and who share our commitment to extending the life-changing benefits of psychoanalysis to a broader community.
Community Membership Benefits:
- Free admission to all PCC Scientific Programs
- Design and participate in diverse Study Groups
- Discounted registration for PCC-sponsored programs, such as Circle of Security Parenting
- Access to the PCC member listserv to share upcoming events, articles, and announcements
